Subject: Park Hill North and Congress schools placed on brief lock down

On August 17, 2017 at approximately 7:30 A.M., Park Hill North High School, Congress Middle School, the Gerner Family Early Education Center, and the Park Hill District Offices were placed on a lock down after there were reports of a student with a gun on the campus.

Further investigation by law enforcement found that the reported individual with a gun was actually a student with a prop for the drill team. Once it was determined that there was no threat, all areas on lock down resumed normal operations shortly before 9:00 a.m. this morning.

The Platte County Sheriff's Office would like to thank the Kansas City Missouri Police Department for their assistance in this matter.
